Karma is Dharma...

A solitary street lamp

gives light without any expectation

just like loving someone!...

He burns on the orders of a certain law-maker

and keeps burning along with the rising sun,

sometimes,

even while the law sleeps,

he burns steady,

just like a younger brother wanting to race and outshine his old sibling!

He stands to throw his blanket of vision and hope,

graduating a child sitting on edge of poverty

making him a man ,

pushing him to stability from his edgy life rope!

in his own shadow generations blossom and bloom,

but,

sometimes he cries when a young and reckless future

takes his shade and smokes his innocence in dope!

just like a flower being raped by natures strom!

He withers when its beyond his scope!

Everyday he becomes history

as things keep changing around him

moving, changing, growing, dying,

he watches time

his dictatorship

just like a minister watching a king in his palace!

He dies when a soul called a bulb fuses off!

he dies when his electric blood stops to flow,

his death brings momentary darkness,

his heaven is the nearby garbage where his soul is thrown away..

just like the empty packets of bread and butter being thrown after being consumed!

No one cries when he dies

a dog jumps on the garbage can

and eats the lamps soul ...

the city sleeps while the dog howls and bleeds...

just like a hungry child being given white powdered water instead of milk!

Then,

at dawn,

an angel walks by and fits yet another soul,

giving life to the lamp and hope to the next generation!

My street lightens up!

the lamp goes to work again

spreading his breaths

weaving lives in his ambience

sneaking opposite his eye level in a bedroom's darkness

snugging rays of his light, inside the embrace

of a coy just married couple,

windows are shut then and he is thrown out! With his halo robbed!

just like a naughty child is thrown out from for watching an adult movie by embarrassed parents!

A street lamp

lives on...to be a karmic and a dharmik!
